About the event
Souk is Arabic for marketplace or bazaar. It is a place to sell your wears, make
some money, and come together as a community. CMCC will create its own kids’
souk every third Saturday.
Goals:
1. To help our kids learn basic rules of Islamic finance
2. To offer our kids a chance to earn some money and learn the skills
of money management
3. To create a fun and interactive environment for the community to
strengthen bonds and get to know each other better
How to prepare:
1. Help the kids plan what they want to sell – food, resale or retail
goods, crafts, clothing, or???
2. Spend the next few weeks preparing items for sale
3. Prepare marketing materials for the “booth” - table decorations,
signage, etc.
4. Bring money to be able to make change
How it will work:
1. Arrive early enough to set up your booth by 6:00
2. The first 15 minutes or so will be a short explanation of the rules
of the souk
3. The souk will run from 6-8:30 with a break for Isha prayer
